Handpresso is a portable, hand-pump espresso machine that produces a cup of authentically brewed espresso.

Handpresso seems to represent convenience and savings, compared to traditional espresso making. Ordinary espresso machines cost at least $300, take up a good deal of space, and can be difficult to clean. A common alternative involves using espresso grounds in a standard coffee machine, but this method skips the pressurization process that lends espresso its distinctive flavors. Handpresso pressurizes water in the same manner as a full-sized espresso machine, but is cheaper and far more portable. However, the product does include one feature that causes some aficionados to turn up their noses: it uses pre-measured "pods," instead of loose grounds.
